Luis Suarez set to attend Manchester United v Ajax game - Daily Mail

Luis Suarez is set to make a sensational return to Old Trafford just weeks after his handshake row with Patrice Evra to support former club Ajax in the Europa League.

The Liverpool striker is understood to have accepted a ticket for the game from friends at Ajax and intends to be in the stands for the game on Thursday.

Suarez refused to shake Evra's hand in the game at Old Trafford earlier this month following the public race-row between the two players in which the Uruguayan was banned for eight games.

The striker issued an apology for his actions but has told friends that he intends to be at the ground to support the team he left last January in the tie that United lead 2-0.

An Ajax player told The People: 'Luis still has a lot of friends at Ajax and sees no reason why he shouldn't go to Old Trafford.'

United will not be happy with the news and are likely to ask Ajax to advise Suarez not to turn up for fears of inciting crowd trouble.

And while United accepted the apologies from Kenny Dalglish and managing director Ian Ayre for the handshaking incident, they will fear Suarez's attendance at the game could open old wounds.
